Parties in parliament that do not form the government.
negotiate
To discuss in order to reach an agreement.
parliament
The elected group that makes national laws.
coalition
A group of political parties that agree to govern together.
Indigenous
Belonging to the original people of a region.
advocate
A person who publicly supports a cause or group.
altitude
The height of a place measured from sea level.
majority
More than half of the total number.
habitat
The natural home where a plant or animal normally lives.
appoint
To officially choose someone for a job or position.
archive
A collection that preserves records for future study.
glacier
A large, slow-moving mass of ice formed from compacted snow.
monarchy
A system where a king or queen is head of state.

Reading
