Adjectives
Descriptive, comparative, superlative, demonstrative and question adjectives, with practice.
Explanation
Adjectives are words that describe or give more information about nouns (people, places, things, or ideas) in a sentence. They help us to better understand and describe the nouns. Adjectives can describe the size, colour, shape, age, and other characteristics of the noun.
Here are a few different types of adjectives:
Descriptive Adjectives
- The beautiful flower bloomed in the garden.
- He wore a cozy sweater on a chilly day.
Comparative Adjectives
- This car is faster than that one.
- Her house is bigger than mine.
Comparative: Comparative adjectives are used to compare two or more things or people. They are formed by adding "-er" to the end of the adjective or by using "more" before the adjective.
Superlative Adjectives
- The tallest building in the city is impressive.
- That was the most delicious cake I've ever tasted.
Superlative: Superlative adjectives express the extreme form of an adjective. They are typically formed by adding "-est" to the end of the adjective, or by preceding the adjective with "the most".
Demonstrative Adjectives
- This book is interesting.
- Those shoes are on sale.
Quantitative Adjectives
- I have three apples in my bag.
